Director James Gunn Reveals F-Word Usage in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Teases MCU Comebacks
Director James Gunn has confirmed that the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will include the use of the f-word, as well as the appearance of some familiar characters.
Gunn made this announcement on Twitter after releasing the latest clip from the superhero movie, which featured a scene where Star-Lord, played by Chris Pratt, uses a curse word towards Karen Gillan’s character. Although the swear word was bleeped out in the clip, Gunn explained that it would not be censored in the final movie, as PG-13 films are allowed to have one swear word. According to Gunn, the use of the f-word was not originally planned but was improvised by Pratt on set, and ultimately made the moment funnier, so it was kept in the film.
The f-bomb is gonna be uncensored in Vol. 3, right?

A fan on Twitter shared a photo of the Ravagers, a group that was led by Sylvester Stallone’s character Stakar Ogord and appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and asked if they would be making a return in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Director James Gunn responded by confirming that “some of them” would be making an appearance in the film. Recent trailers and TV spots have also hinted at Stallone’s return in some capacity.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is written and directed by James Gunn and features a returning cast of MCU veterans, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel. They will reprise their roles as Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Kraglin, Nebula, Mantis, Rocket, and Groot respectively. The film will introduce three new cast members, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji, and Maria Bakalova, who will play Adam Warlock, High Evolutionary, and Cosmo the Spacedog.
The official synopsis reveals that in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Peter Quill and his team of misfits must face new challenges as they protect the universe while also protecting one of their own. Peter is still coping with the loss of Gamora and must rally his team to complete a mission that could lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
The Guardians were last seen in Marvel Studios’ Disney+ special, Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which was filmed simultaneously with the upcoming threequel. The holiday special featured Drax and Mantis attempting to cheer up Peter by throwing him a Christmas party with a surprise appearance by his childhood idol, Kevin Bacon.
